| EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BOYD SHARPE is an IT project manager, an adventure seeker, a husband, and a father of 3 small children. Having dabbled in both martial arts and film making, Boyd created the concept for Cubicle to The Cage after an evening of fruitless screaming at his TV while watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Like so many sports fans he heard himself shout the dreaded “I could do better than that!” Not willing to be an arm chair champion, he decided to put his money where his mouth guard was and test his mettle in the cage. He approached MMA trainer, Peter Martel, and asked him a simple question. “Is it possible for the ‘average person’ to train mixed martial arts for one year and learn enough to get in the cage and compete as a professional mixed martial artist?” The journey they undertook to find the answer to that question developed into the television series, Cubicle to The Cage. |
